About
Please join us at HSA on Wednesday, October 22 at 1:00 for the first lecture in our series dedicated to the theme Re/Generate. Our first speaker will be Ziad Jamaleddine, principal (with Makram el Kadi) of the New York City- and Beirut-based firm, L.E.FT Architects. Established in 2001, L.E.FT explores the ways in which cultural and political productions relate to the built environment. Their practice has been recognized with several awards, including the 2010 Architecture League Emerging Voices Award, Architectural Digest’s AD 100 for 2025, multiple AIA awards, and a LOOP Design Award. Their work, which includes installations, residences, and institutional buildings, is characterized by a formal inventiveness and material rigor that provokes new understandings of architectural conventions, site, and history.
Ziad is an Assistant Professor in the Graduates School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University, where he teaches Advanced Architecture and Urban Design Studios and History and Theory Seminars. He has published on topics ranging from the religiosity of public space to water infrastructure to the reconstruction in post-war cities.
